Toaster

The Toaster is a Spectrum gadget used by Hitch and Ruby Redfort, and presumably other agents of Spectrum, though use of the toaster by others is never mentioned. Though it serves its expected purpose - toasting bread - it also functions as a communication device, burning secret messages onto the toast which can be eaten after being read by the recipent so no one else may ever read the messages... because it's toast!
